Dr. Cano is certified to use several Excimer Laser systems. Currently he uses the VISX S4 CustomVue Wavefront Excimer Laser, one of the most technologically advanced systems in the world for treating all types of refractive errors, including nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia) and astigmatism. The Visx laser employs a unique small-spot laser beam that moves around the cornea and offers micron-size reshaping in a manner designed to produce a smooth and precise tissue ablation. Because of the shape of the eye of some patients and the particular nature of the refractive error, sometimes the VISX S4 Excimer Laser with CustomVue Wavefront Technology is best suited for the application. The VISX technology treats a larger optical zone, which can help minimize the potential night time side-effects of glare, halos and starbursts, and works particularly well on patients with large pupils.
Using the wavefront technology and iris registration technology, this laser system provides a treatment that is customized to each individual’s eye. Along with this he is performing state-of-the-art vision correction with a process called iLASIK which combines all the benefits of the customized VISX excimer technology with the very precise Intralase laser that provides a very precise blade-free technique for the creation of the LASIK flap. This technique has been approved by all branches of the U.S. Military and NASA.
Dr. Cano also employs the newest cataract surgery implant technologies, including the Crystalens, Trulign, ReStor, Tecnis, Toric and other high-definition intraocular lenses.
At Cano & Manning Eye Center, the well-being of our patients and the success of their treatment is always our top priority. We look forward to meeting you!
